Company Description: Karoo Poort Guesthouse provides luxury accommodation in Worcester, South Africa, nestled between mountains and serving as a gateway between the Cape Winelands and the Karoo semi-desert.
Design Brief: The client wanted the new guesthouse’s branding to combine professionalism with playful wit (e.g., “French meets Karoo farm style”). The branding needed to shift perceptions from “just another guesthouse” to a memorable destination that appealed to discerning travelers seeking both comfort and adventure.
Outcome: The new branding centered on a bespoke visual identity that harmonised French elegance with Karoo authenticity. The logo combines a refined serif font with playful icons (grapes, sheep, windmills, mountains), while the colour palette – rust, teal, and soft pink – evokes the landscape’s warmth and sophistication. Patterns like semi-circles and vintage tiles add whimsy, mirroring the owner’s upcycled décor.
For the website, we highlighted their unique selling points: lush gardens, themed rooms, and local partnerships. Clear navigation and immersive imagery showcase the property’s charm, while the blog section underscores their expertise in regional history and wine – aligning with future plans for guided tours.
